The Alabama Disability and Health Program was created in 2012 with funds through a three-year grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to improve the health of persons with disabilities. Alabama is one of 18 funded state-based programs with the purpose of promoting equity in health, preventing chronic disease, improving emergency preparedness and increasing the quality of life among people with disabilities.
