Directions from I-65 south bound coming from points north of Montgomery:

Take I-65 South to exit 172

Take the exit ramp to go to Herron Street.

Turn left onto Herron street (the second cross street at the top of the ramp). Herron Street begins to descend a steep hill and bears sharp to the left; At the point where the street takes a sharp left, the street name is changed to Bibb Street.

Continue on Bibb Street. (Where South Court crosses Bibb Street, the street name changes to Madison Avenue - then the road bears to the right.)

Follow Madison Avenue, passing the intersections of Perry, Lawrence, Decatur, and Bainbridge.

The RSA Union building is the large building with a green roof on the right on the next corner at Union street and Madison Avenue.

Parking

Temporary Parking for deliveries or unloading passengers:
15-minute parking is available in front of the building on Union Street and at the side of the building in the Monroe Street loading dock area.

The loading dock entrance is between the Monroe Street parking deck entrance and the RSA Union Building entrance on the south side of the building.

To get to both 15-minute parking locations ...Continue east on Madison avenue past the corner of Union and Monroe Streets;

Turn right at the corner of Union and Ripley

Turn right at the corner of Ripley and Monroe

The Monroe Street loading dock entrance is on the right between the Monroe Street parking deck entrance and the RSA Union Building entrance.

If you want to park in the 15-minute parking in the front of the building, continue to the corner of Monroe and Union streets and turn right.

Park on left or right side of street in front of the RSA building.

Street Parking

Some metered on-street parking is available close to the building on Union Street. Turn left off of Madison Avenue onto N. Union Street. Both metered and non-metered parking is available on this street.

Handicapped Street Parking - Four designated Handicapped Parking places are available on the street close to the RSA Union Building. Two places are on Union street on the right behind the Capitol before the corner of Union and Monroe and two other places are on Monroe on the right, immediately after turning onto Monroe from Union street. All four locations are on a relatively flat ground approach to the RSA Union Building.

To access these two areas of handicapped parking from Madison Avenue:

....Go past Union Street on Madison Avenue to Ripley Street -

Turn right onto Ripley

Continue south on Ripley for 2 blocks, until Washington Street

Turn right onto Washington street, continue west on Washington street 1 block until Union Street

Turn right onto Union Street.

The handicapped parking places are on Union Street on the right at the end of the block and on the right after turning right at the corner of Union and Monroe. Proceed as a pedestrian from the handicapped parking places to the loading dock entrance across the street at the RSA Union Building. Use the sidewalk going into the handicapped parking deck. An automatic door entrance is on the west wall on the same side of the parking deck as the entrance to the handicapped parking deck.

Accessibility Information

Although the approaches to the side door of the building (on south side of building) and the loading dock door are accessible, the doors are not automatic and are heavy. If you need an automatic door, we suggest you enter the handicapped parking deck as a pedestrian by using the sidewalk going into the handicapped parking deck.

An automatic door entrance is on the west wall on the same side of the parking deck as the entrance to the handicapped parking deck.
